Every now and again you buy something that just flat out works and you want to tell everyone. Well, that’s the case today. I just went out and bought a new HP LaserJet Pro 1536dnf MFP unit for home and it is a smashing piece of kit! Now, I’ve always been a big fan of HP and specially so of LaserJets but there was a while where lower cost LaserJets were to be avoided. I’m happy to say that this seems to no longer be the case because this unit is an absolute gem – drivers are very nice and easy to install on both my 64-bit Win7 box as well as my older XP machines. The scanning function on the PC’s works very smoothly, the copy functions on the box itself could not be simpler and the setup is a breeze. And I like the simple duplexing feature.
But for sheer “cool factor” I have to say that I’ve fallen in love with ePrint. My printer has an email address (courtesy of HP) and I can send an email to that address with an attachment and it “miraculously” prints on my printer. How cool is that?!? And I can send “print emails” from my iPhone which is also seriously cool.
I know Sean blogged about the same feature on his HP PhotoSmart printer a while back and I have to agree, it’s not earth shattering but it IS very cool and really handy.
Anyway, I highly recommend the 1536dnf!
