Talk about agile! It’s October 2015 and there’s already more changes to Yammer since the User Interface changes back in July 2015.
Unfortunately, it would appear the Publisher Settings checkbox has disappeared from the Preferences settings! đ
This setting allowed users to determine if they wanted to submit Yammer messages by using the Enter key or (if unchecked) by using the Shift + Enter keys – read more here.
The only Microsoft Support article I can find on the subject was updated on 04/15/2014 so I’ll have to do some more digging and will update this page when I have more to share.
STAY TUNED!
UPDATE (October 13, 2015): The answer is here: Goodbye Publisher Settings Feature in Yammer
This is terrible news! I hope someone can figure out another way.
Has anyone figured out Where Did the Publisher Settings Checkbox go in Yammer?
This setting allowed users to determine if they wanted to submit Yammer messages by using the Enter key or (if unchecked) by using the Shift + Enter keys
Does anyone know another way?
Hi Michael,
It went away and has not come back. No one has come up with a hack to get around this (to my knowledge).
We are stuck with the one way to submit messages, likely to make it easier for tech support and trainers and end users across multiple Yammer networks, which is the reality for most organizations. I am a member of 15 Yammer networks and if I had to try and remember which networks were Enter versus Shift + Enter, it would be really frustrating.
It took some time, but for the most part, I’ve gained the muscle memory to not post messages in error.
