Content Migration

Moving files and documents into Microsoft 365 with a plan for permissions, structure, and findability.

Moving your files to the cloud

File shares, local drives, and legacy document management systems accumulate years of organizational history, and moving that content to SharePoint Online or OneDrive is rarely a simple drag-and-drop. Permissions, folder structures, and duplicate or outdated content all need attention during the move, not after it.

Getting a migration right

A good content migration starts with understanding what you actually have: what is actively used, what can be archived, and what needs re-permissioning. From there, migrating with the right tools and validating that files landed correctly avoids the most common post-migration headache, which is people unable to find something that used to be easy to locate.

Who this is for

Organizations moving off local file servers, an aging on-premises document management system, or a different cloud storage platform run into the same questions: what should the new folder structure look like, who should have access to what, and how do you avoid recreating the same mess in a new location. This page is an earlier version of a service we still actively provide. For the current, actively maintained description of our content and data migration work, see the link below.
