Radio Buttons – now you know…

Whenever I teach SharePoint, we always end up discussing lists and columns. One of my favourite data types (drop downs, lookups, dates, etc.) to cover when discussing columns is the choice field and more specifically, radio buttons. It’s at this point I get to survey the crowd and see how many folks know why they are called Radio Buttons. Without fail, 0% of the class know what I’m talking about, so while Wikipedia also has this information readily available, I feel it is my responsibility to educate the world and take a trip back to the 70’s/80’s.

What are Radio Buttons?

A radio button or option button is a type of graphical user interface element that allows the user to choose only one of a predefined set of options.
