Victoria Royals partner with itgroove for BC Festival of Trees

Royals and itgroove have teamed up to decorate a tree in support of BC Children’s Hospital.

Festival of Trees - Victoria

The Victoria Royals have partnered with itgroove Professional Services for the second consecutive year to take part in the BC Festival of Trees event that runs through January 6, 2015 at the Fairmont Empress Hotel in support of BC Children’s Hospital.

The BC Festival of Trees encourages people to go to the Empress Hotel to view and vote on trees decorated by local businesses. There is no charge for admission, however there is a suggested minimum donation of $2.00 to vote for your favourite tree. All funds raised through the event and voting at the BC Festival of Trees go towards the BC Children’s Hospital Excellence in Child Heath Fund. The festival is open to the public until 11:00 p.m., seven days a week, up until January 6, 2015.

The Victoria Royals powered by itgroove Tree is located on the main floor of the hotel, outside the entrance to the Bengal Lounge.

The Royals’ and itgroove tree is in the running for the People’s Choice Award and is looking for support in its bid to capture the award. Fans who cannot make it to the Empress Hotel have two ways to cast their vote in support. Fans can visit http://bit.ly/1zkbsaO or submit a ballot in the Royals’ Team Store located at Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre. Voting ends at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 6, 2015.

Marty the Marmot will be at the Fairmont Empress Hotel on Sunday, December 21st from 2:30 – 3:30 p.m. to take photos with fans and the Victoria Royals powered by itgroove Tree.

The Excellence in Child Heath Fund helps to support clinical care, research and development, staff and family education programs and the purchase of vital, life-saving equipment within the three organizations that the Foundation Serves: BC Children’s Hospital, Sunny Hill Heath Centre for Children and the Child and Family Research Institute.

Victoria will play their last two games before the Christmas break tomorrow in Seattle against the Thunderbirds and Wednesday in Everett vs. the Silvertips. Puck drop for both games is at 7:00 p.m.

The Royals return to the Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre on Saturday, December 27th and Sunday, December 28th for a two game series against the Prince George Cougars. Puck drop for both games is scheduled at 7:05 p.m.
