Someone asked today what/how we name our servers (what is the logic behind it?).  Here’s an illustration which breaks it down visually:

  1. Consistency
  2. Sorting
  3. Identifying locations and assets
  4. Easy to remember

  1. We used to name servers as Beer names, Heineken, Bass, Fosters etc at Telecom Bermuda and now at Wireless Ventures all our machines follow Japanese names that include forms of Sushi and martial arts techniques.
