Hey, here’s a quick list of my current favourite iPhone and iPad apps (at this writing – 4/9/2010). I think I have the prices right for them, but taking those from memory. Except for TalkingCarl, these aren’t in any particular order. I have lots installed, including some really popular ones, but a lot I find, I don’t personally use other than to show other folks how cool the concept is (such as UrbanSpoon – great app, but I don’t really *use* it).

Worth every penny. My current favourite. Don’t mind me, I like silly things. Actually he’s just a little red dude that you can tickle, poke, pinch or talk to (and he repeats you). But no matter how much I use it, I never tire of it. Just always makes me smile. Thanks TalkingCarl 😉

Wendy has this too. We both share a common ‘shopping account’. We can add items to our grocery list which syncs between the two phones and when it is time to go shopping, you just carry your phone. Better still, as you tick thinks off at the grocery store, it *learns* which items you got and in what order and adjusts itself to suit for the next time you go (as in, after a couple of visits, you just walk down the aisles and stuff is next in order). Haven’t felt the need to pay for the paid version but at $4.99 it isn’t exactly a turn off |

Particularly on the iPad where the keyboard is too small to do easily/Qwerty and too big to hold in one hand type with my thumb like the iPhone, this works great. Speak into it (no training of it required) and it will type out what you said, with pretty good accuracy. Then you can copy to clipboard or send directly to an email |

Install on both the iPad and the iPhone (buy it only once of course) and I can now take pictures. iPad is the destination but the iPhone is the host. Pretty cool actually as I can look on the iPad but hold the phone anywhere |

Upcoming
Promising apps I’ve installed but haven’t gotten around to using yet…
- MobileNoter – looks like I’ll be able to sync with OneNote. Would be better if I could just use OneNote on the iPad. THAT would be the killer app I would pay a lot for!
- Tungle – on the fence with this one. Love the idea, not really getting all the way there yet (maybe it is me that is the problem). Organize appointments by letting other people see my ‘free’ time and they can pick a block
