This post includes a quick video for how to Email Enable a SharePoint Calendar and manually add an Exchange Contact Alias. Ok, the video is a little sloppy, but what do you expect for quick, fast and free? 🙂 Basically another one of those posts where I get asked enough, it was time to quickly visually illustrate it.

 

Goal:

To Mail enable a calendar and give it a meaningful/friendly SMTP Email Address and Contact in Exchange so it can be cc’d, etc.

 

Assumptions:

SMTP in SharePoint is already configured and working

 

Steps:

  1. Create the calendar and Email Enable it
  2. Create the contact for the friendly (shorter) name in the Exchange Console
