Windows 7 Biometric Fingerprint Login – Well That Was Easy

I was playing with Windows 7 tonight (RC1) and discovered that Windows 7 now has built in Biometric support. And sure enough, my Lenovo T61’s Biometric fingerprint reader was recognized. It took me literally 4 minutes to configure it end to end, with no downloading of any 3^rd party drivers or software (the Lenovo FingerPrint Software crashed constantly on me, under Vista, so I certainly don’t miss it).

The following screenshots illustrate all I had to do, no reboot, no fuss, no muss. Nice. Really, that’s all there was to it (there is no 3^rd party vendor software on my laptop, just the way I like it).
