Windows Vista and Office 2007 – Yawn, so far…

Ok, installed Windows Vista Premium and Office 2007 the other day…

First impressions…

– Installed without a flaw on my Sony Vaio (I ran the upgrade test first to make sure I was aware of what would and wouldn’t work – it was very clear, very nice)

– I’m running anything 3rd party or a concern in a VMWare VMDK – VMWare works just fine on it

– Outlook 2007 wanted to take a while to sync but a logoff and back on fixed that quick

– Power management on the Wireless nic and it going to ‘sleep’ really did for once, but this was a pain so I disabled it
I think both interfaces are stunning…

But, I don’t see a single tangible business benefit (Besides the integrated security – ie. a fresh start) for having it – Office Ribbons are a struggle to find what I’m looking for but I think for the new user, who has basic needs it is a breeze, but if there is a particular function you are looking for, happy hunting – it’s there but not where you would expect to find it ๐Ÿ˜‰
