IE7 – Good, Bad and Ugly

Internet Explorer 7 – The Good, Bad and the Ugly
Faster, more secure – gosh, we hope.

Hey folks,

Your friends at itgroove here.

This time we’re here to tell you that Internet Explorer (IE) 7 has arrived. This latest web browser update from Microsoft finally brings tabs, better security and from what we have noticed ourselves, performance.

Sure, Firefox has had Tabs forever but with so many websites requiring IE in order to view their content and what with Firefox battling their own security demons and functionality shortcomings, IE7 is a welcome addition.

Besides, Microsoft is going to be *encouraging* your PC to have this shortly, so if you weren’t planning on downloading it, you might at least want to be aware once it arrives.

While Microsoft continues to hype their latest product and with it, generate hype about Windows Vista (out soon!), itgroove would like to remind you that being the first on the block to install IE7 isn’t always a good idea. Application incompatibilities, features (okay, bugs) and other delights may await you. Drop us a line if you’d like to know about our experiences with it so far, we’d be happy to share the good, bad and the ugly. That’s it for this one, stay safe out there!
