Microsoft File Server Migration Toolkit

Who knew?

If you’ve ever tried to migrate one file server to another and your servers follow the recommended users in global groups, global groups in local groups, permissions assigned to local groups Microsoft convention, you’ll soon discover that while this is great for global management, migration from one machine to another is a huge drag without expensive tools like SecureCopy, etc.

Alas, Microsoft apparently has a the File Server Migration Kit. Looks like its been out for 2 years now. Never heard of it but then again, never looked for it I guess 🙂
