RDP cannot verify the identity of the remote computer because there is a time or date difference.

Remote Desktop cannot verify the identity of the remote computer because there is a time or date difference between your computer and the remote computer.

I ran into an issue where I couldn’t RDP to a server by its name and received the following error.

This was definitely a DNS issue as I could still RDP and log in by using the servers IP address. Once logged in via the IP address I was able to check the IPv4 settings and found it was indeed pointing to the wrong DNS server. It had nothing to do with a time or date differences.

  1. There was no DNS issue in my case & it was actually timezone mismatch.
