How to get the BIOS Embedded Windows 8 SLP Key
Scenario: Preloaded Windows 7 PC, downgrade rights from 8.1.
Problem: You actually WANT to install windows 8.1, how do you do it?
Say If you have a Lenovo they make it as hard as humanly possible. Maybe you end up with a disk/copy of a horrible recovery media somehow, but you don’t want to use that anyways as then your new install is full of Lenovo bloat.
2nd Problem: The activation key is no longer on the side anymore because that would be to easy. This particular key is embedded in the BIOS.
Awesome Fix: Get RWEverything HEX the BIOS and get the damn key. Next apply it to vanilla install of Windows 8.1 and BOOM, Win! Download the app and select ACPI Tables and then the MSDM tab, copy out the product key. If you don’t see a MSDM tab then the key doesn’t exist. It must have been installed manually.

I bought a Windows 8 laptop and replaced the hard drive with an SSD. After reinstalling Windows, the installer for some reason failed to detect the license key in my BIOS and kept asking me to activate my installation (preventing me, amongst other things, from upgrading to Windows 10).
This fix totally worked!
