iOS users have had the full Office experience available to them on iPad for sometime now but the caveat was you required an Office 365 account to use the apps. Microsoft has removed that restriction and made the Office apps “free” on iPad and also made the apps available on iPhone and iPod (iOS8)!
This is a significant change and it opens up Office to even more users. I think this demonstrates that Microsoft is deadly serious about making Office 365 and the applications it supports work seamlessly on any “modern” device. We have seen similar dedication to this with things such as the single OneDrive client on Android that manages connections to both OneDrive for Business and OneDrive (for personal use). And they have also demonstrated that they listen to user feedback and work to improve the product offerings based on that feedback.
And all of this is coming very shortly for Android.
