Turning off AADSync and Uploading PST files to Office 365

Turning off AADSync and Uploading PST files to Office 365

My goal today was to turn off AADSync for a client and I ran into some new Office 365 features I hadn’t noticed before and some missing ones from the new admin center.

First off the option to turn off / Deactivate Directory Sync seems to be missing from the new admin center so I had to switch back to the old one to find it. Maybe they haven’t moved it over yet or maybe its going to be a PowerShell command now I couldn’t find a clear answer.

Old Way:

In the new admin center its not even listed anymore (yet?)

Also in the new admin center I noticed some new data migration options. They might have been there already, but new to me! Smile

I particularly liked the Upload PST file option at first…

I was hoping it was just a browse to PST file and then upload, but sadly no that would have been to easy.

While its not that crazy it sure is a lot of steps including a SAS URL, downloading a tool and running PowerShell commands to upload the data. Full details in the link below.
