Sharing permissions for Authenticated Users in SharePoint 2013

You may have noticed that in 2013 the default group for “authenticated users” is no longer there.  As you can see below, even typing it in, you get this lovely “No result found” message.

Well, have no fear, even though the UI won’t give you any assistance in the matter, all you have to do is the following:

  1. Enter ‘NT AUTHORITYAUTHENTICATED USERS’ into the username field
  2. Press the “Share” button

And voila, it works like magic!  Don’t let the UI stop you from using this group – it’s still there, it just won’t help you get there.
