{"id":692,"date":"2016-07-06T23:16:18","date_gmt":"2016-07-06T23:16:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/regroove.ca\/stellark\/?p=692"},"modified":"2023-02-24T18:45:12","modified_gmt":"2023-02-24T18:45:12","slug":"office-365-groups-collaboration-made-easy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/regroove.ca\/stellark\/2016\/07\/06\/office-365-groups-collaboration-made-easy\/","title":{"rendered":"Office 365 Groups \u2013 Collaboration Made Easy"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>What are office 365 Groups?<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-family:Times New Roman;font-size:12pt\">Office 365 Groups, AKA Unified Groups, AKA Modern Groups are looking pretty good these days.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family:Times New Roman;font-size:12pt\">These new Groups package up the ability to provide collaboration using Conversations, Calendars, Files (Special SharePoint Online Document library), Note Book (OneNote) and more.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family:Times New Roman;font-size:12pt\">The mailbox will support storage of up to 50G in size while the Files section will support 1TB and up to a <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.office.com\/2016\/02\/17\/auditing-reporting-and-storage-improvements-for-sharepoint-online-and-onedrive-for-business\/\"><span style=\"color:#00b0f0\">10G file size upload limit<\/span><\/a><span style=\"color:#00b0f0\">.<\/span><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/regroove.ca\/stellark\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2016\/07\/070616_2316_Office365Gr1.png\" alt=\"\"><span style=\"font-family:Times New Roman;font-size:12pt\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family:Times New Roman;font-size:12pt\">They can be public or private and they can be configured to allow External senders. When members are added the Group will automatically show up in their mail profile (online or Outlook Client) which can ease the pain of &#8220;user adoption&#8221;.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family:Times New Roman;font-size:12pt\">Users can also be subscribed to Groups should they belong to more than one. Once subscribed Group conversations and Calendar events will be sent to both the Group mailbox and personal inbox.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/regroove.ca\/stellark\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2016\/07\/070716_2030_Office365Gr1.png\" alt=\"\"><span style=\"font-family:Times New Roman;font-size:12pt\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family:Times New Roman;font-size:12pt\">Users can connect to Groups via Office 365 online mail, Outlook client or Mobile. For Mobile users Windows phone, iPhone and Android are currently supported.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>There are some limitations<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-family:Times New Roman;font-size:12pt\">Groups, while they do employ a &#8220;mailbox&#8221; cannot be migrated to. In other words, if you had a nifty idea of migrating your current &#8220;Shared Mailbox&#8221; data to the new Group you would not be able to do so.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family:Times New Roman;font-size:12pt\">They are not currently supported in Outlook for Mac users.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family:Times New Roman;font-size:12pt\">There is not currently a means to govern Users and Group creation\u2026 and more limitations can be viewed here. <a href=\"http:\/\/windowsitpro.com\/blog\/how-office-365-groups-could-be-so-much-better\">Current Limitations<\/a><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>But!
