Teams has introduced some changes recently which give meeting hosts more options for managing what participants can do. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We&#8217;ll look at three different ways to create a meeting and get to the meeting options to manage participant options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Schedule a Meeting from Teams<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-layout-1 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-vertically-aligned-top is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:66.66%\">\n<p>Since I&#8217;m in Teams more than Outlook these days, I can schedule meetings from Teams by clicking on the calendar icon in the navigation rail. This also automatically makes it a Teams meeting. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:33.33%\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/regroove.ca\/sherm\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2020\/07\/image.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11\" width=\"76\" height=\"178\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Add the meeting details, <em>making sure we invite at least one person<\/em>. After the meeting is created, we return to the calendar view. Click on the meeting to open the details. We will now see new options for the meeting, and the one we want to focus on is &#8220;Meeting options&#8221;:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"816\" height=\"292\" src=\"https:\/\/regroove.ca\/sherm\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2020\/07\/image-2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14\" srcset=\"https:\/\/regroove.ca\/sherm\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2020\/07\/image-2.png 816w, https:\/\/regroove.ca\/sherm\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2020\/07\/image-2-300x107.png 300w, https:\/\/regroove.ca\/sherm\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2020\/07\/image-2-768x275.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 816px) 100vw, 816px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In all three scenarios here, clicking &#8220;Meeting options&#8221; will launch a new browser window or tab. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Note<\/strong>: If using browser profiles in Edge or Chrome, we may not be using the right identity in that browser session. Edge does offer an option to always use a specific profile, found in Edge Settings | Profiles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Meeting Options<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Now that we are in the meeting options screen, we can make changes to participant settings (<a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/en-gb\/office\/change-participant-settings-for-a-teams-meeting-53261366-dbd5-45f9-aae9-a70e6354f88e\">https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/en-gb\/office\/change-participant-settings-for-a-teams-meeting-53261366-dbd5-45f9-aae9-a70e6354f88e<\/a>):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"790\" height=\"382\" src=\"https:\/\/regroove.ca\/sherm\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2020\/07\/image-3.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15\" srcset=\"https:\/\/regroove.ca\/sherm\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2020\/07\/image-3.png 790w, https:\/\/regroove.ca\/sherm\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2020\/07\/image-3-300x145.png 300w, https:\/\/regroove.ca\/sherm\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2020\/07\/image-3-768x371.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 790px) 100vw, 790px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Lobby bypass options include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Everyone<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>People in my organization and trusted organizations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>People in my organization<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>When we select the option to allow specific people to present, another option is presented which allows us to add names of people who were invited to the meeting:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"789\" height=\"107\" src=\"https:\/\/regroove.ca\/sherm\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2020\/07\/image-4.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-16\" srcset=\"https:\/\/regroove.ca\/sherm\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2020\/07\/image-4.png 789w, https:\/\/regroove.ca\/sherm\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2020\/07\/image-4-300x41.png 300w, https:\/\/regroove.ca\/sherm\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2020\/07\/image-4-768x104.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 789px) 100vw, 789px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Read meeting roles information here: <a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/en-us\/office\/roles-in-a-teams-meeting-c16fa7d0-1666-4dde-8686-0a0bfe16e019\">https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/en-us\/office\/roles-in-a-teams-meeting-c16fa7d0-1666-4dde-8686-0a0bfe16e019<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Schedule a Meeting from Outlook Desktop App<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The easiest method to create a Teams-enabled meeting is to click on the New Teams Meeting button in the ribbon:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"486\" height=\"341\" src=\"https:\/\/regroove.ca\/sherm\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2020\/07\/image-5.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-17\" srcset=\"https:\/\/regroove.ca\/sherm\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2020\/07\/image-5.png 486w, https:\/\/regroove.ca\/sherm\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2020\/07\/image-5-300x210.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 486px) 100vw, 486px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In the meeting details screen, we will see the Teams Meeting options embedded into the body; this is where we will see &#8220;Meeting options&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"653\" height=\"528\" src=\"https:\/\/regroove.ca\/sherm\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2020\/07\/image-8.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-21\" srcset=\"https:\/\/regroove.ca\/sherm\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2020\/07\/image-8.png 653w, https:\/\/regroove.ca\/sherm\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2020\/07\/image-8-300x243.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 653px) 100vw, 653px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Selecting &#8220;Meeting options&#8221; here will launch the screen in a browser as we saw earlier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Schedule a Meeting from Outlook on the Web<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The experience here is similar to Outlook Desktop; use the &#8220;Meeting options&#8221; link that is embedded into the meeting details. However, the Teams links are not available until after the invite is sent. Similar to Teams, we will need to go into the meeting invite to access the Teams meeting options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One extra option available on Outlook Web is to automatically make every meeting a Teams-enabled meeting.:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"510\" height=\"438\" src=\"https:\/\/regroove.ca\/sherm\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2020\/07\/image-9.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-22\" srcset=\"https:\/\/regroove.ca\/sherm\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2020\/07\/image-9.png 510w, https:\/\/regroove.ca\/sherm\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2020\/07\/image-9-300x258.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 510px) 100vw, 510px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>By default, this is not enabled. Outlook on the Web has a new option to enable this option for all new meetings as the default.
