You select the image to make the anchors around the edge of the image visible. You use your cursor to select one of the corners. Being smart you think ahead and hold down the Shift key on your keyboard before you click with your mouse and move the corner of the image in or out to make the image smaller or larger.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/itgroove.net\/oh365eh\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2016\/07\/OneNote-Image-Corner-Anchor.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1603\" src=\"https:\/\/itgroove.net\/oh365eh\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2016\/07\/OneNote-Image-Corner-Anchor.jpg\" alt=\"OneNote-Image-Corner-Anchor\" width=\"611\" height=\"366\" srcset=\"https:\/\/regroove.ca\/oh365eh\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2016\/07\/OneNote-Image-Corner-Anchor.jpg 611w, https:\/\/regroove.ca\/oh365eh\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2016\/07\/OneNote-Image-Corner-Anchor-300x180.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 611px) 100vw, 611px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>If you are in OneNote Online, things work as you expect and the image resizes with the proportions constrained.<\/p>\n<p>But if you are in OneNote 2013, OneNote 2016,\u00a0or the OneNote App, things don&#8217;t go as planned.\u00a0The aspect ratio is not locked and a wobble of the mouse causes your image to become distorted.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/itgroove.net\/oh365eh\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2016\/07\/SHIFT.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1602\" src=\"https:\/\/itgroove.net\/oh365eh\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2016\/07\/SHIFT.jpg\" alt=\"SHIFT\" width=\"327\" height=\"171\" srcset=\"https:\/\/regroove.ca\/oh365eh\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2016\/07\/SHIFT.jpg 327w, https:\/\/regroove.ca\/oh365eh\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2016\/07\/SHIFT-300x157.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 327px) 100vw, 327px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Holding down Shift while resizing an image is a common trick in Adobe programs to resize an image. But in OneNote the surprise is that the program is automatically set the aspect ratio without having to hold down a key. It&#8217;s actually a super\u00a0handy\u00a0feature.<\/p>\n<p>If you grab an anchor on any of the sides of the image, it will not lock the aspect ratio. (It only works on the corners.)<\/p>\n<p>And what&#8217;s interesting is that in OneNote Online, the corner anchors will always stay locked even if you hold down Shift.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>You insert a screenshot into OneNote.
