{"id":655,"date":"2014-08-18T10:22:36","date_gmt":"2014-08-18T17:22:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/regroove.ca\/oh365eh\/?p=655"},"modified":"2023-02-24T20:34:47","modified_gmt":"2023-02-24T20:34:47","slug":"fix-audio-play-headset-speakers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/regroove.ca\/oh365eh\/2014\/08\/18\/fix-audio-play-headset-speakers\/","title":{"rendered":"How to Fix Audio to Play Through Your Headset, Not Your Speakers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dear Future Kelly,<\/p>\n<p>Are your co-workers glaring at you over the desk dividers while your latest favourite EDM tune is blaring through your computer speakers?<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Sounds like you&#8217;ve\u00a0forgotten how to fix your computer audio again&#8230;<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Yes, I know your USB headset is plugged into your computer &#8230; Yes, I know you&#8217;ve clicked on the &#8220;Speaker icon thingy&#8221; in the Notification Area. &#8230; Yes, I know you opened the Volume Mixer menu and changed the Device from the\u00a0built-in speakers\u00a0to the headset.\u00a0&#8230;\u00a0Yes, I know sound is still coming out through your computer speakers. &#8230;<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Why?\u00a0 <\/strong><\/em>Because every single time this happens,\u00a0you forget what your colleagues have already shown you at least six\u00a0different times and\u00a0go about resolving this crisis the\u00a0<em><strong>wrong way<\/strong><\/em>&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/regroove.ca\/oh365eh\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2014\/08\/speakers-wrongway-01.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-662\" src=\"http:\/\/regroove.ca\/oh365eh\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2014\/08\/speakers-wrongway-01.png\" alt=\"speakers-wrongway-01\" width=\"265\" height=\"432\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/regroove.ca\/oh365eh\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2014\/08\/speakers-wrongway-02.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-663\" src=\"http:\/\/regroove.ca\/oh365eh\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2014\/08\/speakers-wrongway-02.png\" alt=\"speakers-wrongway-02\" width=\"489\" height=\"350\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>The correct steps are actually:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>1. <em><strong>Right click<\/strong><strong> on the\u00a0Speakers icon<\/strong><\/em> in the Notification Area icons.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/regroove.ca\/oh365eh\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2014\/08\/sound01.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-657\" src=\"http:\/\/regroove.ca\/oh365eh\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2014\/08\/sound01.png\" alt=\"sound01\" width=\"276\" height=\"304\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>2. <em><strong>Select &#8220;Playback \u00a0devices&#8221;<\/strong><\/em> from the context menu.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/regroove.ca\/oh365eh\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2014\/08\/sound02.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-658\" src=\"http:\/\/regroove.ca\/oh365eh\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2014\/08\/sound02.png\" alt=\"sound02\" width=\"284\" height=\"318\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>3. <em><strong>Right click<\/strong><\/em> on the audio device that you want your audio to playback through.<\/p>\n<p>4. Select <em>&#8220;<strong>Default Device<\/strong>&#8220;.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/regroove.ca\/oh365eh\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2014\/08\/sound03.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-659\" src=\"http:\/\/regroove.ca\/oh365eh\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2014\/08\/sound03.png\" alt=\"sound03\" width=\"500\" height=\"495\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>5.
