Fortunately Microsoft gives us a keyboard shortcut so you can click and press your way to inbox zero!<\/p>\n<p>Introducing my new favourite Keyboard Shortcut in Outlook Webmail:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/itgroove.net\/oh365eh\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2016\/05\/e.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1422\" src=\"https:\/\/itgroove.net\/oh365eh\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2016\/05\/e.png\" alt=\"keyboard key - letter e\" width=\"167\" height=\"164\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>If you hover your mouse over the Archive button in Outlook Webmail, you&#8217;ll see a popup that shows the letter &#8220;E&#8221;. Pressing the key on the keyboard while having a batch of emails selected will send them all to the Archive folder.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/itgroove.net\/oh365eh\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2016\/05\/Outlook-Webmail-Batch-Archive-Keyboard-Shortcut-E.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1423\" src=\"https:\/\/itgroove.net\/oh365eh\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2016\/05\/Outlook-Webmail-Batch-Archive-Keyboard-Shortcut-E.png\" alt=\"Outlook-Webmail-Batch-Archive-Keyboard-Shortcut-E\" width=\"1027\" height=\"590\" srcset=\"https:\/\/regroove.ca\/oh365eh\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2016\/05\/Outlook-Webmail-Batch-Archive-Keyboard-Shortcut-E.png 1027w, https:\/\/regroove.ca\/oh365eh\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2016\/05\/Outlook-Webmail-Batch-Archive-Keyboard-Shortcut-E-300x172.png 300w, https:\/\/regroove.ca\/oh365eh\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2016\/05\/Outlook-Webmail-Batch-Archive-Keyboard-Shortcut-E-1024x588.png 1024w, https:\/\/regroove.ca\/oh365eh\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2016\/05\/Outlook-Webmail-Batch-Archive-Keyboard-Shortcut-E-768x441.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1027px) 100vw, 1027px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now, with that said, there&#8217;s a weird glitch or feature (depending on how you look at it) in Outlook Webmail, where when you select the &#8220;select all&#8221; checkbox (#1 in screenshot above), it only selects the first nine\u00a0(9) emails&#8230;\u00a0don&#8217;t\u00a0believe me?\u00a0Give it a try and scroll down through\u00a0the list of emails in that folder. As you can see, only the visible\u00a0emails are selected.<\/p>\n<p>Fortunately there is away around this &#8211; although it was rather hidden and I stumbled it on accident when clicking around. After using the Select All checkbox, you&#8217;ll see the Preview Pane will have a summary of the # of conversations you have selected. By clicking on the text that says &#8220;Select everything in your&#8230; XXX folder&#8221;, Outlook Webmail will indeed select everything &#8211; see:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Before:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/itgroove.net\/oh365eh\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2016\/05\/Outlook-Webmail-Select-9-Items.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1425\" src=\"https:\/\/itgroove.net\/oh365eh\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2016\/05\/Outlook-Webmail-Select-9-Items.png\" alt=\"Outlook-Webmail-Select-9-Items\" width=\"392\" height=\"257\" srcset=\"https:\/\/regroove.ca\/oh365eh\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2016\/05\/Outlook-Webmail-Select-9-Items.png 392w, https:\/\/regroove.ca\/oh365eh\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2016\/05\/Outlook-Webmail-Select-9-Items-300x197.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 392px) 100vw, 392px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>After:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/itgroove.net\/oh365eh\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2016\/05\/Outlook-Webmail-Select-Everything.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1426\" src=\"https:\/\/itgroove.net\/oh365eh\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2016\/05\/Outlook-Webmail-Select-Everything.png\" alt=\"Outlook-Webmail-Select-Everything\" width=\"371\" height=\"211\" srcset=\"https:\/\/regroove.ca\/oh365eh\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2016\/05\/Outlook-Webmail-Select-Everything.png 371w, https:\/\/regroove.ca\/oh365eh\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2016\/05\/Outlook-Webmail-Select-Everything-300x171.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 371px) 100vw, 371px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now, the *weird* thing is that certain buttons disappear when you have everything selected. Notice how the Archive button is gone? See:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/itgroove.net\/oh365eh\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2016\/05\/Outlook-Webmail-Select-Everything-Removes-Archive.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1427\" src=\"https:\/\/itgroove.net\/oh365eh\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2016\/05\/Outlook-Webmail-Select-Everything-Removes-Archive.png\" alt=\"Outlook-Webmail-Select-Everything-Removes-Archive\" width=\"1062\" height=\"417\" srcset=\"https:\/\/regroove.ca\/oh365eh\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2016\/05\/Outlook-Webmail-Select-Everything-Removes-Archive.png 1062w, https:\/\/regroove.ca\/oh365eh\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2016\/05\/Outlook-Webmail-Select-Everything-Removes-Archive-300x118.png 300w, https:\/\/regroove.ca\/oh365eh\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2016\/05\/Outlook-Webmail-Select-Everything-Removes-Archive-1024x402.png 1024w, https:\/\/regroove.ca\/oh365eh\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2016\/05\/Outlook-Webmail-Select-Everything-Removes-Archive-768x302.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1062px) 100vw, 1062px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Fortunately this doesn&#8217;t happen every time you select all, just when you surpass a certain threshold. The Archive button is still visible for small batches of under 30 emails or &#8220;conversations&#8221;. I haven&#8217;t played around enough or taken the time to research the actual threshold, but\u00a0I can say with certainty that it\u00a0doesn&#8217;t work when you\u00a0have selected hundreds of\u00a0emails at once.<\/p>\n<p>Now interestingly, you <strong>can\u00a0batch delete<\/strong> <strong>everything<\/strong> in a folder even if the number of emails is\u00a0in the hundreds.
