In a past blog post (“Where Did the Publisher Settings Checkbox go in Yammer?<\/a>“) I\u00a0pondered\u00a0the fate of the Publisher Settings Feature. It had recently disappeared from the Yammer Interface \u00a0and I wondered if it\u00a0had been moved to another location or if it had become a setting that only Network Admins could configure.<\/p>\n

On October 7th,\u00a0Microsoft\u00a0made an announcement<\/a>\u00a0in the Enterprise Social Service Updates\u00a0group of the IT Pro Yammer Network about some Minor Deprecations in Yammer.<\/strong> These minor features\u00a0were deprecated due to one of three reasons:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. low engagement<\/li>\n
  2. because they were no longer fit with Microsoft’s long term product direction\u00a0– to be\u00a0focused on team collaboration.<\/li>\n
  3. part of\u00a0Microsoft’s ongoing efforts to streamline the Yammer User Interface and User Experience.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    This list includes the Publisher Settings Feature<\/strong>,\u00a0which lets users press the “Enter” key to submit a new post or reply to one.<\/p>\n

    This feature can no longer be enabled, and will be deprecated within the next month or two.<\/p>\n

    Verified admins in Yammer will receive a Yammer email to communicate this and other changes to the service. If you haven’t received yours yet, Microsoft clarified that this message may take some time\u00a0due to a current backlog in\u00a0[their] email platform.<\/p>\n

    So what now?
