Hey friends. I was searching for the right word to describe where I\u2019m at these days as I reflect on the summer. I\u2019m writing this at a Brown\u2019s Social House in Nanaimo (softball tourney this weekend). And it came to me. \u201cRe-Bourne\u201d … And if there is to be a movie, Matt Damon needs to be tapped to play me because \u2026 Twins! ?<\/p>\n

And to be clear, I\u2019m not \u201creborn\u201d. Nope, \u201chopes and prayers\u201d don\u2019t do it for me. Action does<\/u><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Huh? Let me explain\u2026<\/h1>\n

Amnesia<\/h3>\n

Only some of you will know what Wendy and I have been through in the last 8 months. But needless to say, that old saying \u201cwhat doesn\u2019t kill you makes you stronger\u201d couldn\u2019t be more accurate in our situation. I won\u2019t go into the past (Jason Bourne had amnesia and I\u2019m choosing to as well). Bourne lost his identity briefly \u2026 as did I. Parked.<\/p>\n

On a Mission<\/h3>\n

I\u2019m still refining my purpose and I\u2019m almost there (thanks Tom). And it doesn\u2019t stop at operating a company, playing in a band or trying to be a good dad and husband. I want to work on things bigger than that \u2026 bigger than me. I\u2019m not Musk trying to put a million people on Mars in a hundred years – that\u2019s bananas (or is it?). But I plan on doing my part to ensure we do better on our little island – Catch up. Keep up.<\/p>\n

Badass Athletic Assassin<\/h3>\n

Okay, maybe that\u2019s a stretch. But I\u2019m working on it, constantly. 110+ pounds lost \u2026 and hey, I found an ab the other day. ?<\/p>\n

So why specifically \u201cRe\u201d Bourne?<\/h1>\n

Well\u2026 on Tuesday, itgroove (the company Wendy and I founded in 2003) will become \u201cRegroove\u201d.<\/p>\n

Why is that Sean? Keep yer pants on \u2026 I\u2019m getting there.<\/p>\n

  1. We don\u2019t do \u201cIT\u201d anymore. Sure we are still in technology but the idea of \u201cIT\u201d as we know it has changed and we\u2019re \u201closing it\u201d – or at least the traditional ideas surrounding it. We\u2019re 100% focused on doing things in modern ways and by renaming our company, we are absofuckinglutely \u2026 all in. Sometimes you just need to lock something in and fully commit \u2026 like a tattoo (now there\u2019s an idea\u2026).<\/li>\n
  2. Microsoft Word wore me down. Try starting a sentence with \u201citgroove\u201d and you\u2019ll see what I mean. Microsoft Word 1, itgroove 0.<\/li>\n
  3. It was always \u2018itgroove\u2019 folks. But I\u2019ve seen ITGroove, itGroove, I.T.Groove, IT Groove, IT-Groove, ITGroup, even ITGruv \u2026 enough is enough. It\u2019s Regroove now. We\u2019re owning the word.<\/li>\n
  4. While it was kind of funny at the time, if you called us \u201cit\u201d groove we used to joke that you probably didn\u2019t need our services – the simplest of pre-qualifiers. Well \u2026 these days, every business could benefit from what we have to offer. We\u2019re Removing the ambiguity and Refining our message. Ok, I\u2019m done with the \u201cRe\u201d play on words.     So that\u2019s where I\u2019m at this week. Next week you\u2019ll start hearing all about Navo<\/a> (another rename, formerly Masthead, Navo is coming and we mean business). We\u2019ve been busy. And Next up – Shelterball, Rockstar Games and if Ann is game, we\u2019ve even got Blue Balls (you thought I was kidding didn\u2019t you Ann \u2026).<\/p>\n
