In the end, I had to download two components manually, which were: <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>SQL Server 2008 Native Client <\/li>\n<li>SQL Server 2008 R2 November CTP Reporting Services Add-in <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"\/brainlitterarchive\/Lists\/Photos\/050410_0359_SharePoint21.png\"> <\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#4f81bd;font-size:9pt\"><strong>Figure 1 : Error: SQL 2008 R2 Reporting Services SharePoint 2010 Add-in: download error (optional component) <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The problem is, even after downloading the (supposedly correct) file, according to the provided link on the checker dialog and installing, the error would persist. The webpage it provided (<a href=\"http:\/\/technet.microsoft.com\/en-ca\/library\/cc262485(office.14).aspx\">http:\/\/technet.microsoft.com\/en-ca\/library\/cc262485(office.14).aspx<\/a> ) suggested this website: <a href=\"http:\/\/go.microsoft.com\/fwlink\/?LinkID=164654&amp;clcid=0x409\">http:\/\/go.microsoft.com\/fwlink\/?LinkID=164654&amp;clcid=0x409<\/a>. But no workie\u2026 <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>The Fix <\/h2>\n<p>The solution was simple. I reviewed the logfile instead and it indicated it was trying to get the following file instead &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/go.microsoft.com\/fwlink\/?LinkID=166379\">http:\/\/go.microsoft.com\/fwlink\/?LinkID=166379<\/a>. I downloaded and installed that version (in fact, it indicated it was an upgrade as I had already installed the other version and voila!
