    Note: Don’t just disable IPv6. Do it when necessary only. <\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

      1. In the Edit<\/strong> menu, point to New<\/strong>, and then click DWORD (32-bit) Value<\/strong>. <\/span><\/li>\n
      2. Type DisabledComponents<\/strong>, and then press ENTER. <\/span><\/li>\n
      3. Double-click DisabledComponents<\/strong>. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
      4. Type any one of the following values to configure the IPv6 protocol, and then click OK<\/strong>: <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Type 0<\/strong> to enable<\/em><\/strong> all IPv6 components. Note<\/strong> The value “0” is the default setting. <\/span><\/p>\n

        Type 0xffffffff to disable all IPv6 components, except the IPv6 loopback interface<\/strong><\/span>. This value also configures Windows Vista to use Internet Protocol version 4 (IPv4) instead of IPv6 in prefix policies. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
