To test the SMTP service, follow these steps:
Open a Command Prompt.
Telnet to port 25 of the host you intend to test (e.g. telnet computername.yourdomain.com 25<\/strong>). The output resembles something similar to the following:<\/p>\n

220 computername.yourdomain.com ESMTP Server (Microsoft Exchange Internet Mail Service 5.5.2651.58) ready<\/em><\/p>\n

Type helo me<\/strong> and press ENTER. The output resembles the following:<\/p>\n

250 OK<\/em><\/p>\n

Type mail from:email@domain.com<\/strong> and press ENTER. The output resembles the following:<\/p>\n

250 OK – mail from <\/em><\/p>\n
