{"id":2060,"date":"2013-02-16T16:06:30","date_gmt":"2013-02-17T00:06:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.brainlitter.com\/?p=2060"},"modified":"2013-02-16T16:06:30","modified_gmt":"2013-02-17T00:06:30","slug":"found-a-usb-to-ethernet-adapter-for-my-ultrabook-that-was-completely-plug-and-play-with-windows-8","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/regroove.ca\/brainlitter\/2013\/02\/16\/found-a-usb-to-ethernet-adapter-for-my-ultrabook-that-was-completely-plug-and-play-with-windows-8\/","title":{"rendered":"Found a USB to Ethernet Adapter for my UltraBook that was completely plug and play with Windows 8"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In case this helps someone else, as I didn\u2019t come across many sites or resources (just jibber jabber in forums)\u2026<\/p>\n<h2>What<\/h2>\n<p>I was looking for a USB to Ethernet adapter for my new Windows 8 UltraBook (Lenovo Yoga \u2026 sweet by the way) as it only comes with wireless networking (a trend I think that will continue)<\/p>\n<h2>So What<\/h2>\n<p>I couldn\u2019t find anything particularly \u201ccertified\u201d for Windows 8 (yet, this is February 16th, 2013 today) but after some recon in the forums, it appeared a few devices had been tried and true and I was already making a purchase from Startech.com (for a USB to DVI connector \u2013 I have three screens for my Yoga <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wlEmoticon wlEmoticon-winkingsmile\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/brainlitter\/2013\/02\/wlEmoticon-winkingsmile1.png\" alt=\"Winking smile\" \/>\u00a0 &#8211; The Yoga itself in Tripod mode, a 24\u201d on HDMI and another 24\u201d via the USB adapter (startech.com USB2DVIE3 by the way) \u2013 gives me 1920&#215;1200).<\/p>\n<h2>Now What<\/h2>\n<p>I took my new USB21000S2 out of the box, plugged it into the USB port and Windows 8 detected it and installed the driver within the minute.\u00a0 Nice.
