Since the user was already Synced I had to add the old users email as a proxyAddress in the attribute editor etc. Everything synced up pretty well, but the problem was that the E-mail field in AD UPN didn\u2019t match the 365 username. The account worked, but had mismatches with the send from field and signing into Outlook.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/regroove.ca\/archive\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2015\/02\/image3-1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" style=\"padding-top: 0px;padding-left: 0px;padding-right: 0px;border: 0px\" title=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/kinglou.itgroove.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2015\/02\/image_thumb3.png\" alt=\"Renamed AD users UPN not syncing with Office 365 via DirSync\" width=\"549\" height=\"111\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/regroove.ca\/archive\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2015\/02\/image4.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" style=\"padding-top: 0px;padding-left: 0px;padding-right: 0px;border: 0px\" title=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/kinglou.itgroove.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2015\/02\/image_thumb4.png\" alt=\"Renamed AD user\u2019s UPN not syncing with Office 365 via DirSync\" width=\"550\" height=\"159\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Microsoft had a handy fix for me, but its still kind of odd it didn\u2019t do it automatically, but at least it was easy fix. It was Scenario 2 in my case, something do do with renaming users with a 365 license it seems. Basically connect to Azure AD using PowerShell then\u2026<\/p>\n<p><strong>connect-msolservice<\/strong> (authenticate)<\/p>\n<p>Finally run the following Windows PowerShell cmdlet:<\/p>\n<pre><span style=\"font-family: Calibri\"><strong>Set-MsolUserPrincipalName -UserPrincipalName [CurrentUPN] -NewUserPrincipalName [NewUPN]<\/strong><\/span><\/pre>\n<pre><span style=\"font-family: Calibri\">Now everything matched up, I did a repair on the Outlook profile and all was good.<\/span><\/pre>\n<pre><span style=\"font-family: Calibri\"><a href=\"http:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/kb\/2523192?wa=wsignin1.0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Microsoft Link<\/a><\/span><\/pre>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Renamed AD users UPN not syncing with Office 365 via DirSync I recently renamed an existing users account and forced DirSync to push the changes to the cloud.
