How to get the BIOS Embedded Windows 8 SLP Key<\/h4>\n

Scenario:<\/strong> Preloaded Windows 7 PC, downgrade rights from 8.1.<\/p>\n

Problem:<\/strong> You actually WANT to install windows 8.1, how do you do it?<\/p>\n

Say If you have a Lenovo they make it as hard as humanly possible. Maybe you end up with a disk\/copy of a horrible recovery media somehow, but you don’t want to use that anyways as then your new install is full of Lenovo bloat.<\/p>\n

2nd Problem:<\/strong> The activation key is no longer on the side anymore because that would be to easy. This particular key is embedded in the BIOS.<\/p>\n

Awesome Fix:<\/strong> Get RWEverything HEX the BIOS and get the damn key. Next apply it to vanilla install of Windows 8.1 and BOOM, Win! Download the app and select ACPI Tables<\/strong> and then the MSDM tab<\/strong>, copy out the product key. If you don\u2019t see a MSDM tab then the key doesn\u2019t exist. It must have been installed manually.<\/p>\n
