When you set up an Office 365 subscription the information that you supply for the initial setup is critical going forward.\u00a0 The reason for this is your \u201cpermanent\u201d internal O365 identity will be created as \u201csomething.onmicrosoft.com\u201d.\u00a0 So, if you set up as \u201cmytrial.onmicrosoft.com\u201d and you decide to convert from a trial to a \u201clive\u201d subscription you\u2019ll be stuck with mytrial.onmicrosoft.com as the identity cannot be changed after the fact.<\/p>\n

So, I suggest you try for an ID that is as close as possible to what you want going forward and skip having words like \u201ctrial\u201d in the name.\u00a0 Keep in mind that this is the \u201cinternal\u201d email domain for O365, your \u201creal\u201d email domain\/domains will be overlaid on top of this primary ID as you go forward with O365 so you are not changing <\/em>your email domain.\u00a0 But, we have seen many customers that are frustrated because they really didn\u2019t want \u201cmytrial\u201d (or something like it) going forward.<\/p>\n
