What?<\/h2>\n

The My Site search is not working.  When trying to search within your my site (http:\/\/mysites.company.com\/my\/personal\/account), you\u2019re seeing a web page “404 – page not found” (or similar looking) error.  <\/p>\n

So What?<\/h2>\n

This is happening because the UPS (User Profile Service) has a bad URL in the “Preferred Search Center” field. <\/p>\n

Now What?<\/h2>\n

To resolve the issue, in Central Administration, go to the following: <\/p>\n

Application Management -> Manage Service Applications -> User Profile Service Application -> My Site Settings -> Setup My Sites -> Preferred Search Center. <\/p>\n

Once the Search Center URL is updated, perform a full crawl in the Search Service Application. <\/p>\n
